Día De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a Mexican Holiday that is said to reunite the living and the dead. Families create Ofrendas (offerings) to honor their loved ones that have passed and to encourage them to cross over from “the other side.” As the departed souls hear the prayers and songs and smell the delicious foods, they are believed to join the celebrations on this day! Día De Los Muertos is an occasion for us look at death differently - where mourning is exchanged for a celebration of life. From TransLingua to all those celebrating – Feliz Día De Los Muertos!
