TransLingua’s own Ilaria Migliardi and Medina Sajan were honored to attend and sponsor the Door Legal Service’s annual fundraiser “Joining in Justice” last week. Over 200 people joined in this powerful celebration of partnership and shared commitment to support young people across New York City, and to ensure they are protected and represented through free, high-quality legal services.
The event honored the Door’s partners, ROCC NYC, Emery Celli Brinckerhoff Abady Ward and Maazel LLP, and features its youth client speaker, Mouctar, who had been wrongfully detained for 3 months following a routine immigration court appearance. The Door Legal Services team worked tirelessly on Mouctar’s release, and now, he is a champion and leader for others. We were touched by his story, and are grateful for the opportunity to continue to support such amazing causes like the Door’s.
