Language Lab and Language Matters become TransLingua

In August 2011 The Language Lab and Language Matters officially became TransLingua Expands with offices in New York City and Boulder, Colorado. We are still the same company: Privately owned, operated by linguists, and proud of providing outstanding value to our customers.

During an initial transition period we worked on updating our resources and processes in order to provide an even higher level of service. Our staff and our expert linguists are ready to meet our clients' communication needs in any language in the United States or anywhere else in the world.

Over the past few years, there has been a positive business trend in translation. As a result TransLingua is thrilled to announce that we are expanding our operations. As a result, we have hired two additional project managers at our Boulder office, one project manager in New York, and a sales and marketing specialist who helps us support our growth efforts in both locations.

Jennifer Brown joined TransLingua in fall of 2013 as a full-time project manager. A native of Florida, she moved to New York City in 2005 to pursue a B.A. in English and French literature at Columbia University. She worked as curator of the French section at a foreign language bookstore in Manhattan and went on to earn an M.A. in French literature at Yale University in 2013. Prior to joining TransLingua, Jennifer interned at the United Nations. She speaks French and Spanish and has a passion for foreign languages and literature, as well as for her adoptive borough of Queens. In her spare time, she does freelance translation for the IMF.

Elodie was born in the suburbs of Paris, France. She spent most of her childhood holidays in her father's hometown, a small village north of Madrid in Spain, speaking Spanish among her extended family. As an undergraduate student, she spent a year at Hunter College in New York as part of an international student program. She instantly fell in love with the City. When she went back to France, she earned her Master's Degree in Translation and Project Management from the University of Paris 7 while interning as a project manager in the pharmaceutical industry. After her studies, she decided to move to New York permanently and started working at Translingua. In her spare time Elodie loves traveling, tasting delicious food and wine, and enjoys going to the theater.

As part of our new corporate look, we have also created a new website and a social media presence. For more information, please visit us at www.translingua.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
