On Wednesday, March 22, 2017, the Wasserman Center for Career Development at the NYU School of Professional Studies hosted a panel discussion and webinar for NYUSPS students from various programs such as MS in Translation and MS in Project Management as well as guests online. The Panel was moderated by Edwin Raagas, Assistant Director, Wasserman Center for Career Development at NYUSPS, and the panelists were: Daniel Crawford, Director of Operations at TranslateMedia, Nicole Kelshaw, Director of Production at G3 Translate, and our own Nicole Michel-Deshagette, co-owner of TransLingua.
The topics that were discussed included: technical and soft skills that help translators and project managers become successful, job searching tips, how can a candidate stand out in the networking and interview process, industry trends and emerging markets, career challenges and how to overcome them, career paths or trajectories available to translation professionals, and learning trends and updates in the translation field.
